 Hi my name is Aiisya Najwa. You can call me Najwa. Today, I am 1 year old. Yeay! I have 2 teeth and my mama has started complaining about them – hehe why? Because I know I can bite her N..hehe. I am so happy because I can walk and almost run. I am very active girl (3 times – fell off the bed), but I do like acting as a princess. My sister teaches me. I think you know my sister – Kakak Husna. I like to play with her, because I can bully her (Plez, don’t tell her my trick). Whenever I want something from her, I just pretend to cry and then pointing at her, my Mama sure will help me. Anyway, I love my kakak very much.

I am a breastfed baby, so I am very healthy and smart. I do not have colic, constipation and diarrhea even when I was so small. My Mama gives me the best milk ever. However since Ramadhan it is not exclusive anymore. My Mama was struggling with her supply during the fasting month, so I started drink FM if Mama could not get enough milk. Nevermind, Mama. I understand. I can drink FM, no problem. But I still love your milk, the smell and the snuggle . Don’t feel guilty and sad, I know you are doing your very best for me.  I love you, Mama!

My Papa is the best papa. He likes to clean me when I poo-poo. He is the one, who always accompany me during the morning nap (sometimes till 12 noon), and Papa will bathe me. If Papa is not around, I have to wake up very early and have to follow Mama. I don’t like it, I want to sleep – just like my Papa =).

I love my Adik, my Ibu and Atok too. They take care of me while Mama is working. I love to stay and play with them eventhough sometimes, Adik felt lazy forgot to feed or to bathe me. I will try to behave well, coz I know Adik and Ibu are busy with the sewing and the customers, but playing is so much fun! I hope, Mama & Papa will get a maid soon, so that I can play more!

You know, I am very lucky. I have great-grandparents which I know as Mak and Abah.  Mak likes to watch me. She always remind everybody to check on me - what am I eating, what am I doing and etc. Hehehe..I feel like VIP! Abah also likes to play with me. Sometimes, Abah will look after me if Atok is not around. But he’s really mad if I disturb his stereo set. Hik hik, sorry Abah, I like to see the buttons and the lights. I believe, I am his favorite great-grand daughter (Oh this one also cannot tell Kakak;)

I think that’s all from me. I hope I can write more. Oh anyway, my Mama said today, I can ask a gift from you, so…..What you’ve bought for me??

Husna was exclusively bf from her 6th day till 2 and half years. I’m quite impressed but there were alot of obstacles and problems I faced to bf my baby. Luckily (mmg sangat lucky), my Amran was the most supportive person in the world. Muahh!

Definitely, I am really hoping that I could do the same thing with the 2nd baby. Harap Mama kuat and tabah untuk kali kedua ini! However, I did a few mistakes actually, that I wish I could re-correct them. Ni disebabkan kurangnya info. So I would like to share with you frens:)

1) No milk on the first day
Husna was on formula for the first 5 days. Aku yang jahil ini ingat tiada susu lagi (sbb breast belum membengkak). Sebenarnya, mommies…selepas sahaja uri dikeluarkan, susu ibu telah mula dikeluarkan cuma cecair itu berwarna kekuningan dan sangat pekat, tidak berupa susu langsung. This is called colustrum. Colustrum is very essential for your baby because it’s rich with antibodies. Read this article – Kolustrum: Cecair Bernilai Emas. So mummies, after done everything, you may ask the nurse for your baby to bf her/him (normally in the private hospital, you have to ask).

2) Buy ‘not-so-good-and-cheap’ breastpump
I thought all the breastpumps are just same, the function is only to express your milk. So we just bought the RM 30++ breastpump. Heh, tahu berapa aku dah beli?? Nak dekat2 3-4 biji aku beli. Since I was exclusively on bf, so these so-so breastpumps couldn’t fulfill my needs. Asyik rosak, bocor or tak berfungsi langsung. Then lepas baca2 kat internet esp susuibu.com & amazon.com, baru lah aku faham kenapa orang sanggup berbelanja lebih membeli jenama2 yang bagus spt Avent, Medela, Spectra dll untuk breastpump sahaja. So we decided to buy the Avent Isis manual breastpump. The result? Amazing! And till it is still ok, waiting to be used for the little one soon.

3) Stok susu semasa pantang
Semasa berpantang, susu ibu yang dikeluarkan sangat banyak sebenarnya, dan aku terlepas pandang perkara ini. Aku ralit memberi Husna direct sucking. Aku hanya membuat stok, sebelum 2 minggu nak kerja. Sangat2 rugi. So bila dah start bekerja, aku terpaksa ’berhempas-pulas’ membuat stok mcam ‘kais pagi, mkn pagi’ supaya Husna cukup susu setiap hari. I had to find extra times too to express milk, just to make more stock.

The benefits of breastfeeding you can easily google it…I dont think I need to explain here. The most important things are, get support from your family esp your hubby (sang suami – tolong skit ye;), seek for many and right info about bf (jgn suka dgr ‘org kata’), get support from lactaction support group, and of course DOA, DOA dan DOA!

So mummies, I am a full-time working mum, not a milk-drinker, very ‘lembik-tak-tahan-penat’, a spoiled daughter… If I could do it, so can you!! (Eh, Jennifer Garner pun bf tau;) And I am going to do it again. Insya-allah, Amin!
